you might have to wire up a relay to do that safely...

Well, on my Speedhut guages, I tired up the inverter power from the red/black wire that the stock dimmer is running to. That power turns on as soon as you turn on the parking/headlights. Myself, I have speedhut guages, and for the inverter, as soon as it gets power, it turns the guages on...there's no power on/off switch, so I don't understand why you need to turn yours on. It's quite possible that this one you have has a switch and that you may not have a choice, it sounds like it's a digital switch cause you need to manually turn it on everytime.

ya mine has a on/off button. for the power of the inverter it has the three connections to the gauges, power, ground, and then a switch line to the button. i wonder could i cut that switch line and splice it to the healight line. so when i turn the lights on itll turn those on as well?

depends on if its a momemtary contact switch or a normal on off switch.

its a contact switch....hmm cuz there are 2 prong coming from the on/off button. would it be a relay and ground? since the power is coming from the lil black box. ill take a picture of it and post it up in a lil bit. thnx guys
Jon

here are the pics:

first one is of the setup where the on/off hooks up to the inverter amp box.
the second one is the on/off switch line, anyone has any ideas what each line is for?

I have that same switch on my indiglos (currently installing), did you ever get them to turn on with your headlight switch??
I tried joining the two indiglo switch wires together, but that didn't work.

let me know...

my speedhut gauges are hooked up to the dimmer and turn on with the head light switch. all i did was set the color on the speedhut controller and set the intensity to max. now when i dim the lights, the inverter dims too.

one thing to note: the dimmer switch has a variable 'ground' and constant 12v. for example at its dimest state, the 'ground' has about 12v and at full intensity the 'ground' is at 0v. i'll get a wiring diagram with pinouts done up this weekend for you.
