did it start right after you swapped the clutch?

where is the noise coming from?

can you describe the noise a little more?

Yeah I put in a new pilot bearing, it sounds like it's coming from the total left side.
atfirst i thought the tire wasn't on correctly I checked that and it was fine.....
I drove it some more today and it's getting worse and worse. I think maybe it's my transaxle. or maybe my brake assembly. I'm just really not sure

the noise itself
if a slow down a lot. and turn off my car and let it roll i can hear it every time the tire goes around sounds like it's in the same place everytime.. and as i get faster it gets louder and more frequent. the noise soundsl like something is wabbling or really loose. but it's wierd to me that if i step on the gas or the break it stops..while if i'm just coasting in gear or out of gear the noise is still there

axle chatter?

well we know it only happens when the engine has a load on it trying to make it go faster then it wants to, so its somewhere in the drive line, but only happening under engine breaking loads.

does it happen at really slow speeds, like crawling along at idle in first?

Your going to have to try to hear more perciesly wher the sound is comming from.

i was thinking that, but you would hear that all the time, not just under a negitive load.

if you have a dyno in town for cheep (or free) have someone run the car on it and get by the wheel and see if you can identify the source.

It could be the axle is either not seated properly or you could have a damaged Inner CV (Constant Velocity) joint. Get under the car, grab the axle and yank up and down on it. Rotate the wheel & axle just a little bit and try it again and again several times untill you've checked it a full 360*. If the axle moves up and down more than about a 1/4" then thats the problem and you'll need a new axle. You can also check to be sure the axle is fully seated.

Also double check your motor mounts as they may be lose or even one damaged.

How did you remove your axles? Did you at any point grab the axle shaft and pull on it? If you did you could have dropped the Inner CV retainer spring out of the Inner CV Housing.

Ok i'm thinking it's the axle
this might help, when i was putting the axle back in on the drivers side, it didn't just go in like it did on the other side. me and my friend had to kinda force it in? it did not come out easily either....
