Coolant leak

My resevoir is nearly full
a spot i had recently repaired on the radiator was leaking again
i was told that my cooling fan is running a little weak
the radiator fan has been jumped 2 run anytime the car is on with the
engine bay test box

should i just use a repair on the radiator, one of those little
bottles, or try to seal again from outside?
would a weak fan allow the water to boil up but not increase the
engine temp (needle inthe middle as always)? this would easily
create enough pressure to re-crack a repaired seal.

mostly air came out of the leak, some liquid came out

thoughts and suggestions are appreciated

thanks

im thinking you got a little hole probably cuz if the fan is week, it is too week to cool.

i swaped the fanand tried to repair the radiator again but it still leaked so i either put in that interal radiator repair fluid or i buy a new radiator.

autozone for 100 or 200 either way most of there stuff is lifetime replacement even under abuse. repair is fine, but then you have to live with the though of having a broken radiator and not a new one.

Try Ebay - you can usually get a new one for under $100

Most additives that you can induce to your coolant system cause more harm than good. In addition to somtimes fixing the leak very freaquently they will clog the veins of your radiator as well.

Pending the population of your area there might be a shop that speiclizes in radiaotrs. If its an endcap that is leaking they might be able to fix your radiator or atleast offer you a better price than autozone.

If the leak is at the top of the radiator and your car is not overheating the priority of getting this fix should be low. If your strapped for cash and its not causing any problems I wouldnt fret over it. Just open the radiator itself and check it from time to time to be sure its full.

Well what i just did today was go to the local parts stor and bought a repair kit,its for the plastic parts of the rad,i have a crack about 3",,,the kit is pretty much fibreglass, and it does the trick,so far so good.

When you put a new radiator in, don't you need to bleed it?
Does this forum have a Diy section for that sort of thing??
Ps. Mine is for sale in Wilson, Nc if anyone wants mine. email me for details

no you don't need to bleed it..all the air will be pushed out through the overflow tank. just make sure you check the coolant level often when you first replace it.

if you replace it and your engine still overheats (and coolant isn't leaking), you could have an airlock in the engine somewhere... usually that doesn't happen though.
