New Wheels

Post by TheBlackMoth »

Hi, I am getting some new wheels for my MX-3, but I have a few questions... Firstly, I haven't got the special key to take off the locking wheel nuts, they are the original MX3 wheels, so I was wondering whether its possible to buy one?

Also, I have agreed to buy a set of wheels here:

Just to make 100% sure, will these fit on my mx-3?

Thanks! :P

Those tires are too tall, and he doesn't specify the lug nut spacing so you can tell if they'd fit or not.

When I lost my key, I had to pay a tire shop to force them off. I'll never put another set of locking lugs on ever again. There's not enough theft in this region to warrant it.

Actualy he does specify that it is a 5 bolt pattern(also visible in pic) and that will definately not work on the MX-3.

When Carmax lost the key to my lugs on my probe I went to the ford dealership, told them the vin and they ordered me a new one for about $10. I'm sure Mazda could probably to the same.

OK, I've managed to find the key to take the wheels off! It was under the spare wheel in the leather bag :)

How can I tell if the wheels will fit my MX-3 - I want 16" and I know I need an aspect ration of 45 or below for these, can anyone inform me of any other limitations/things I need to look for to check they will fit?
Cheers!

I did have a look at these earlier, but I'm guessing they aren't gonna fit:

You'll want 205/50/R16 tires on 16" rims. For the rims, they'll need a 4x100mm bolt pattern and a 42-45mm offset.

The offset is going to change depending if it is a 6.5", 7", 7.5" or 8" wide wheel. You also have to remember that he appears to be in europe where 16" X 7.5 and 8" are more common than on this side of the pond.

I really love these wheels and everything seems to be perfect to fit the MX-3 apart from the Stud Diameter which is 110...

Does anyone know whether they will fit my car OK? If so I'm off to buy them tomorrow!

Cheers guys! :)

The auctions ending really soon, so if anyone can tell me whether they will fit I would really appreciate it, as I don't want to waste a couple of hundred quid on alloys that dont fit!
Thanks!

It already says above those are 5 bolt rims. It's physically impossible for you to fit.
