help I"m stumped
ok I just recently changed my girlfriends passenger side CV axle. and installed new rotors and ceramic brake pads on her 96 protege and now I am hearing a noise that sounds like the pasenger side rotor or something is moving sorta like a metal to metal clunking noise when going over bumps...I double checked everything to make sure everything is tight and secure ...any Ideas what this noise could be ?

are the pads rubbing on the rotors?

strut related could be ball joint, could also be rubber rubbing on strut if your lowered with aftermarket large rims.

Some do... when the rear ones went in my girlfriends old subaru it made a hollow sorta drum bop bop bop. If you bounce the car and then stop see how quickly the car stops bouncing. If a strut is blown the car will bounce really easly and keep bobbing for a bit after you stop. If its seazed you wount be able to bounce it at all, but that would be real obvious.
I think I had that same noise on my MX just a while ago though. It was more of a sharper rattle than a bassy drum roll. My wheel barring went soon after and I replace that with the ball joint. No more noise. So i dont know if it was the ball joint or a sign that the wheel baring was going.
