damn snow, breaking pieces off my car

well we had a big snow storm hit today. I was driving home today and as i was driving i hear a snap and a black, square like piece of plastic broke off of the front undercarriage of my car, needless to say its now in a few pieces. my question is what is this piece for and do i need to get another one asap?

Not really, its just a cover thingy on your undercarriage. Mines
been broken for years lol

hahahah wow...i have the exact saem thing dangling off of my car right now..i'll just get the guys to remouve it when i get my exaust done tomoro.

if its a splash guard i suggest fixing it as i think there was a recall if u dont have it on salts and sand and all that will splash on ur alternator and cause it to fail.......
