So what's the difference between the BPT GTX and the BPT GTR?

the main thing is the turbo for the easiest answer. search for bpt gtx and gtr on this forum as i believe someone listed them all exactly. i just cant remember them all right now but the biggest thing is the turbo and the rarity in the motor. 2500 or so ever made world wide.

sodium filled valves on the GTR, squeeze cast rods, higher CR.

*speculation* that the cams are more aggressive, but this has yet to be proven.

Other than that, and the turbo, there isnt much of a difference between the 2.

Cast rods? I'm almost postitive they are forged and have a slightly larger shoulder area on the big end. My GTX rods are forged yo! 8) That's a good difference. Same heads. Different cast intake manifold. C.R. is the same. You forgot about the web stiffened block and the cast foam nickel piston's on the GTR man...geesh. Turbo is most definitely larger and the turbo manifold is specific to the VJ-23 turbo.

forgot something also. the gtrs turbo manifold eliminates the lean condition that the gtx has. mazda had the mani tuned and made so that wouldnt happen. thats what ive read and have heard.
