I am looking at some laptops. One is a celeron m 370, one is an amd sempron 3000, and the other is an amd athlon 2400. All are about the same price and have the same specs other the the processor. Which one is the best?

The one i am leaning towards now is the amd athlon 2400 because it is the only one in stock. Just looking for some opinions from somebody who knows about this stuff.

well the celeron is a cheap verson of the pentium, and the sempron is a cheap verson of the anthlon. i have a amd anthlon 2600 and i love it. anthlon is way better than pentium in my opinion

Hell ya, myself, I perfer AMD's, all 3 of my machines are.

IMO: Athlon 2400 > Sempron 3000 > Celeron M370

So will the athlon 2400 be any faster then the sempron 3000?

Actually, it seems that I may stand corrected, check out these benchmarks, but they are all so close. (When you said Athlon 2400, for some reason I was thinking Athlon 64)

From what i can gather, the athlon 2400 has a clock speed of 2.0ghz, the sempron 3000 i read anywhere from 1.8-2.0ghz, and the celeron m370 is 1.5ghz. Is this right?
If it is then i will go with the athlon 2400.

It actually seems that the Sempron may be the better choice. But do no base performance on Ghz between models and manufactuers, there are different architectures that affect how the chip/computer as a whole actually performs
