Loss of mileage

Ever since my sohc flooded (water) about 2 weeks ago,its been getting about 180-200 miles to a tank were as before it was getting almost 300 miles to a tank...any ideas why?...

Some of the electronics may still be damp or you might have warped some of the engines internals...

oddly enuf the idle problem most of us seem to be having is gone it runs great ,i did the jumper wire to read the ecu and the check engine light didnt light so im assuming everything is fine??? :?:

no internal warp ,,,,ecu is most likely feeding too much fuel,try drying it out with hair dryer.it is on the floor under the radio.

maybe your o2 sensor got F'ed...if the water go that high. this would put the ECU into "safe mode" and run rich.

my o2 sensor was messed up so i put on a new one, but didnt seem to change anything. how would u take the ECU out of safe mode?

You can reset the ecu -
disconnect the battery negative cable
press brake pedal for more than 20 seconds
reconnect the battery cable
and the ecu will go back to the factory settings
