Loose cap

what would be the effect of having an extremely loose 2nd rad cap be on the operation of our cars?
(Aside from leaking rad fluid?)

cause bubbles to go to the IAC causing a rough idle

Would this in any way hurt my pickup? I ask because while checking my fluids today i noticed coolant litterly flowing out of the cap, so i tightened it down alot, and i swear to got it seems as if the car is less bogged down, so to speek.
Guess im just wondering if im crazy or if this makes sense!
