Rear demister problem (relay?)

Post by kaze »

Hey mate,

My rear demister isn't working, there is a clicking sound when i press the demister button, as well as the light on the button, but nothing happens.

I connected the voltmeter on my friends levin rear demister metal things, and got a nice blue spark.

I connected the voltmeter on my rear demister metal things, and got nothing.

I am led to believe its the relay that stuffing up, since thats the common problem.

Are there any other probable causes? I did an extensive search on this site, and i can see my relay (directly above foot pedals).

I am led to believe its the one that has yellow, yellow-blue, black, black-yellow wires connected to it (grants described it in one of his post). However, due to the angle, i am not sure how to remove the relay (since i am looking from bottom up). Since from the bottom, ther is the wires, then the connector (wires to relay) and finally the relay. I'm not sure (can't see) how the relay is connected to where it is. Anyone got any ideas or advice?
