Probably no, since 96+ was OBDII

Yopu may have to get the same ECU as you had in it before.

Yup its gotta be obdII and from an mx-3. No other cars have a compatible ecu with it. It will have to be from a 96 as well cause that is the only year guaranteed to be obdII. Just make sure the number on your ecu is the same as on the new one you buy

What are you trying to do?

If your ECU is pooched and your trying to replace it, then get the same one.

If your trying to revert to OBD1 to get a ZE in or to ditch your EGR, then you have another option.

You can swap the entire harness out from an older car, you cant swap just the engine harness because all other pinouts are wrong somethig like 45 out of 68 are wrong.

If your interested i have all the pin outs and color codes for most K-series cars.

I will be swapping to something not sure what yet, my plans keep changing.

I am putting a 97 PGT 2.5l into my 96 MX-3 (OBDII). I want minimal down time so i covered all bases.

I have:
97 PGT MTX ECU (OBDII)

94 MX-6 ECU MTX (OBDI)
94 MXT Full Harness
