Hello.

I probably I have to replace the E-brake wire.
It wont go back to the "unengaged" position on the right side.
so yesterday I had a LOT of smoke coming from the wheelwell.

My question is. Can I use the wire from another model, perhaps 323
or escort. what years.
We don't have many mx3s in the junkyards here in Norway.
Not many Mx3s on the roads either.
but many 323s end escorts.

My mazda dealer told me almost 400$ for this little wire thing.
pretty expensive.

thanks

before you go buy some check the caliper. I had my parking brake lever seize up on me.

ya, the rear calipers are notorious for having the e-brake latch seize. If you want a temporary fix, take off your wheel and pull the e-brake latch back to its normal postion. I have to use rope for leverage on mine. You can try putting some lube in there but if you want to be able to use your e-brake you'll need to replace the whole caliper. Personally, I just dont use me e-brake!
