Hey Everyone,
Image
I just wanted to get everyone's input on this. An import auto show called Driven to Perform is going to be taking place in Calgary on May 28th.

Here's the website

I wanted to know if a group of people would want to Enter the show and have their cars on display for $50 per car or just view the show for $12 per person. I talked to one of the coordinators and it appears that they would prefer cars that were in excellent shape with nice big Rims and Tires. (That counts me out... ) Personally I would rather just check out the show since meeting their requirements might be difficult. I think Justin's car might meet those requirements but I still need everyone's input on this. Keep in mind that if we don't enter our cars this year, we can always do it next year or place them in another show. We would need to have at least 2 or 3 MX-3 to make this worth while. Please click to vote on one of the options when replying to this post.

What if we all kinda chipped in to have Justin's (Or anyone else's for that matter) car enter on behalf of MX-West?
I can't guarantee being there, but it would be nice to have some representation. Heck, it would probably be the only MX there.

Seems quite high to enter. It would definately be cool to have some reps though. Any one able to part with some rims for the show?

Well if we were to have only one car in the show to represent the club, then I think MX-West would be able to pay for it. Wouldn't be able to pay more than that though. But I think putting Justin's car in the show wouldn't be a bad idea. This being a one day event makes it a lot easier to organize with one car but I agree that the fee is pretty high. The most that I've usually seen is around $25-$35. Oh well. Maybe their cash prizes are bigger.
I would have loved to put my Red MX-3 in if It was still alive. Oh well... I think Justin's car would just need a little TLC around the edges and gettings some rubber on those 18" wheels before the show. That's all I can foresee.

Well like I said before, Justin. If I'm not to busy when you move back here, I can most likely help you with the fiberglassing and any other things you need done. You should almost attempt finding a fabric match for your door panels instead. I think it would look cleaner than the fiberglass. If you do, make sure it's fairly stretchy.

Moving on your birthday....that sucks. I wouldn't mind helping you and James on the car if I can get away from the kidlets. Keep in touch. BTW.....my golf tourney is the same day and the registration has been sent. Crap!

Well it looks like we'll just be viewing the show and not exibiting in it. There wouldn't be enough time to register anyways. I won't be able to make it to the show since I'll either be building on my house or swapping my engine that weekend. I'd recommend that a group of you pick a time and place to meet up at the show and check things out.

Sorry, won't be able to make it out to this one either. Have to do a bunch of running around town getting stuff ready for my new job.

Congrats on finding a new job. I know how much you were wanting that. Hopefully it pays more too. $$$ is always good.

Oh yeah. Nothing like a 40% pay raise.
Start on Monday, and the first thing I'm doing is booking off for the Kelowna trip :)
