I've had idle issues... but now :)

I've had idle issues at operating temp. The engine never had the prescribed 600-750 RPM, it was lower, or most of the time higher at 1000.
sometimes when the engine was warm and I started it, the idle fell so low, the engine allmost stalled, and then I got sick of it... and took one good hour time for my dear MX-3 :)

here's what I've done:

disconnected the throttle wire, removed the throttle body, freed it of the rest of some original seals, which btw cracked all over, so I had to replace the seals (made them out of some cardpaper like sealing plate;cardpaper like plate with two sided rubber coating; which is cheaper than the original seals & easy to cut out with scissors).... I've cleaned the whole throttle body with degreaser, I even took the idle screw out, and sprayed it with the degreaser, than took a toothbrush, and scrubbed all the dirt away through all the details of the TB, the hard accessible points were cleaned with a screwdriver and a piece of cloth. Then I did the TPS adjustment, put the clean throttle back on with the new seals !! warmed up the engine, readjusted the idle, and it works pretty fine for 3 days now... I really hope it stays like this.

I suspect, that most of the problems were caused by the missadjusted TPS.

ok... question... what is the thin line justs above the thick line near the zero number on the RPM counter ?

Image

is it the mark for 500 RPM ?

or what does it mean ?

Yea, 500 mark. Under thats probably not needed cause its too slow and will probably stall anyway.
