Your dash light problem is pretty common and is probably the dimmer. Check this thread for more info.

Good luck with it and welcome!

hey,

maybe you can help me out. my hvac lights don't work. i think that's caused by a loose wire because i remember a while ago i slide the temp selector hard towards the cold side and it worked for like 5 minutes. i got it to flicker a couple more time, but nothing since then. also, the rear defrost light never works and when i push the rear defrost button the 4-way light turns out and doesn't come back until the next day.

it's nothing serious, but it is kinda annoying. so, if you have a remedy for this problem, please let me know. thanks a lot.

ovendenk, yours sounds like a grounding problem. There seems to be 2 ground points for the equipment your talking about and they are (quote):
- Ground I Left side of underdash, above fuse block and
- Ground J Underdash, below instument cluster.

See if you can find them - there could be up to 7 black wires joining somewhere near those points. Maybe in some sort of strip connector? Just check all the connections if you can.
