Is it possible

Post by happyclown »

I finally did my own engine work! been wanting to work on my own car since i owned the darn thing... But... I replaced the starter, and while i was at it, i added a 4guage (FAT) ground from the battery to the chassey, then i scrapped away the paint and contact for the chassis to engine (the wire next to the p/s pump...

After doing those grounds, i think im getting better gas mielage... maybe its a fluke of things, but i usually get just shy of 300miles per tank, the tank after i did the grounds i've gotten 310miles and still a bit less than a quarter to go!

So my question is...
Can you get better gas mielage from better grounds? or did i just drive down a lot of hills on this tank  ?

Yes this is very possible. If you have a weak ground you will not have as strong of spark and the alternator is working harded to supply power through a ground that has more resistance.
