Rough Idle Discovery

Hey guys... as you know.. I am trying to track down a rough idle issue on my 1.6L DOHC MX-3. Well I may have made a little discovery here this evening and since it wasnt something I have seen posted here I thought I would share the wealth for something else to check. I was taking a closer look at my old cap and rotor and noticed a uneven wear ring around the inside of the cap where the rotor had been scraping the cap. I have the car in the shop currently having the injectors cleaned so I cant follow up on this yet.. but I bet I find the distributor shaft bushing to be worn down and allowing play in the shaft. This would definately explain the rough idle and why things smooth out as soon as the throttle is opened up. Btw.. I have seen this exact thing happen on two previous cars.. 75 Nova & 85 Subaru XT. If you havent checked for excessive side to side movement in your distributor shaft.. might wanna give it a check..
