I have stupidly misplaced the one and only key to my '93 Eunos Presso, does anyone know if I can get a new one made somehow? (bearing in mind I'm in the UK and it's a grey Jap import)

Is there perhaps a key number printed somewhere?

I really can't afford all new locks!

Thanks

I believe... I would call them before I made the trip, but mazda can probably make you one based on your VIN. You may have to have proof of ownership. Call your local dealership.

Any locksmith can make you one, most will even come to you to do it. Give one a call and get a price.

Or you can buy lock picks :D yah just go to a lock smith, and they can make a new key.

Thanks for you help, I didn't know they could cut a new key from a lock.

For future reference, here in London they quoted £145+VAT to come out to the car, break into it, remove, decode and replace the ignition barrel then hand-cut a new key, about an hours work.

Wow thats expensive.....

But if they replaced the ignition barrel, how do your door locks work?

You didn't have a spare at home? I've got a spare of every key I own on top of my wife having a key of everything. There's no way in hell I could go to sleep at night not knowing I've got spare keys at home.

I don't mean that they replace the ignition barrel with a new one, but simply replace the old one once they've disected it in order to make a key pattern
