What's your priority list?

Post by MarkMoore »

okay as far as i see it, there are the following areas to modify a car (might have forgotten some stuff)

-exterior styling
-interior styling
-braking system
-suspension
-engine
-tranny
-audio
-exhaust
-security

so... what's your priority list as far what you have modified/plan to modify??

oh yea, since we are on the subject, this is something that i find weird... is it just me, or is how your engine looks not important at all... i mean, i know that if you have a show car, it's important for the engine bay to be clean and polished and pretty and so forth, but as for me and my car, what it looks like under my hood is that absolute last thing on my priority list... i dont know, it just seems like a lost cause tryin to keep something so messy as an engine bay looking clean and presentable, especially when everything else in my car needs work... maybe it's just me, i dont know

people go for cross drilled/slotted rotors and such, that's mainly what i was thinking about

Engine swap. (already have engine in parts on my garage floor)
Stereo install (already have the stereo parts, just need to get the box wrapped in vinyl or painted)
Paint (need one panel repainted where a repair went bad. Already had the whole care repainted, so shouldn't cost too much just to repaint the one panel)
Interior (Don't have jack yet. Want to reupolster seats in neoprene and replace the armest inserts to match.
Exhaust (Also don't have any of this yet. Still not sure what all I'll do with headers and/or custom or Pacesetter exhaust.)

Hmmmm...... to much I want to do!!!!
1. Engine - already have the BP. Need to make it bullet proof!!
2. New charging system - 100amps..........
2. Interior (that's where I am most of the time) - New short shifter, redo interior seats and panels, clean and fix all the little cracks and rips, new carpet
3. Suspension - Need new struts, and an alignment , maybe wheel balancing
4. Rims - Gonna paint em a dark grey or matte black
5. Stereo - finish stupid fibre glass box and put all the rear panels back in, maybe a new set of components, and a better quality amplifier, customize face of deck to interior
6. Brakes are left up to Speedy Auto Service
7. Hookup trunk and gas door release to alarm system as aux 2 and aux 3
8. Replace locks in doors, maybe shave key hole....
9. Get RS wing from someone...........Then paint car like the A-Team van
Image

Long term stuff like 5 to 10 years......
1. Rebuild a BP from the ground up with my own two hands, along with BP tranny
2. Custom make my own turbo setup
3. Find AWD protege and a 1992-93 MX-3 and begin the transformation............

too many ideas.........got to go to bed............[/img]

Got to sell one of my cars to cover the bills

I agree with you to a point an the engine compartment thing. Mine looks like a big friggin mess right now, and I really dont care. I'd like it to look nice cause when people go, "what you got in there?" its kinda embarrasing to pop the hood. My Subaru Legacy engine compartment look like a freakin nightmare, but once they saw the t3 knowone really cared! LOL
93SE-KLDE Theres a big peice of metal inside my other peice of metal now...weird???

as far as importance goes.. i'd say:

Suspsension
Wheels
Engine
Exhaust
Body Styling
Audio
Interior Styling

gotta get the handling down first (suspension/wheels), and then you know how to drive it, so add some power (engine) with all accessories (exhaust). By that time you wanna be different to show off da skillz (body styling) and you need some tunes (audio) to go with your car, which you ride in all the time comfortably (interior). :D
