the mx has 4 lug, 4 x 100 bolt pattern. SOme honda civic wheels , toyota wheels fit.
To make a 5 bolt fit you would have to get 5 bolt spindles. This would not be very useful when wheel companies make up to 18 in rims that will fit the 4 x 100 bolt pattern. If you have some old rims from another car that your tryin to fit, you may just be better off saleing them and using that money to the correct bolt pattern size.
You can get a bolt adapter , but I wouldn't suggest it because your wheels will stick out 1 inch.
No. The wheels would be perfectly safe and probably ride and feel exactly the same. It's all up to your own tastes whether or not you want your wheels to be popped out an inch.
