Well it looks like, Vance Law, last year's coordinator for Mazda in the Mountains has vanished from the face of the Earth. I've been getting a flood of emails from people asking about the August event and I don't know anything since Vance said he would take care of it. Looks like MX-West will have to step up to the plate and host this event. We still need a parking lot location in Canmore for this. Somewhere with a great view and wouldn't disturb the locals. Anyone with suggestions would be great! We need all the help and support possible to get this all Mazda meet off the ground in this short period of time. The original date for this event was August 1st and I would like to keep that date if possible.

Well we can take my car out there and look around. I hope we find something. This is cutting it pretty close to the wire. There are so many clubs asking me about it. We'll try and keep the Date and Time the same.

Okay, here's the latest info. I have put down a deposit at the Canmore Nordic Centre. This is for a Paved Parking area (NOT GRAVEL) and it is a little bit out of the way, so it shouldn't cause any problems with the Nordic centre. Now it's not official because we still have to buy the liability insurance and pay for renting that section of the parking lot. MX-West cannot afford the whole fee so I will pay for it temporarly but we may be to charge a $5 dollar per car fee just to cover a small portion of the cost. I will send out an email tomorrow once I find out some more. I will go ahead and get the liability insurance and book the location but I would like some form of compensation and I'd hope that everyone participating in the show could pitch in. Let me know your thoughts.

Here's the Event Information posting on the MX-West website.
2nd Annual Mazda in the Mountains
You can also pre-pay the $5.00 per car admit fee online using the PayPal link on that page. If you are with a group of people you are able to purchase multiple entries. You will be contacted afterwards to confirm the names and vehicles attending.

Umm...Any replies to this?

The guys over at the protege club were thinking of holding it on Aug 21st.

August 1st is too close of a date. Lemme know what you think. PM, or email me. Maybe we can discuss this over the phone as well. Thanks

The August 1st date was chosen a few months ago. The spot is already rented and the liability insurance is paid for. I can't cancel it now because I won't get my $$$ back. I hope some of you can make it. I kept the date the same because it was the original date and most of the clubs had nothing planned that weekend. Just to warn you, if you try to plan an event at the Nordic Centre without Renting the location and getting liability insurance, they may call in the police to take care of things. Lee, the Opperation Manager at the Nordic Centre warned me about that because last year the MITM event did not have their authorization or insurance coverage. They are very upset at this Vance guy because of it. Just thought I'd let you know...

We've had the MITM Aug 1 date on our events calendar for a number of months now. Our calendar is otherwise full for the rest of August. I expect 6-9 Miatas to be there this Sunday. See everyone on then.

Well, a few of the MX-3s are going to meet at the Calgary 16th Ave & Stoney Trail Esso station at 12:30pm and then convoy to Canmore. Anyone wanting to tag along with us is more than welcome to. :D
