civic beat down

Post by mazdamxstyle »

Last night at the track I dominated a civic by about 3 car lengths. It was a 96 ex with intake headers exhaust and it was chipped, I have the k8 with intake and full exhaust and a very well kept engine with quite a bit of weight reductiona and I layed him out
Mazda:1
Honda:0

My friends stock N/A Supra beat a swapped hatchback easily.....wasn't the 200HP prelude engine, but it was still pushing 180HP. My friends Supra probably has about 225.

"torqueless wonders" Even the s2000's FC20 240HP engine only has 153ft/lbs of torque.

The most common swap you're going to run into with the Civic hatch is the B16 swap. It's a 160hp DOHC motor found in the Civic Si. A 2300-2400lb Civic hatch will not run low 13's with this swap. Street tires or slick, it doesn't matter. Like someone else said, mid high 14's IF they can drive.
From what I've heard, the 200hp Prelude motor spins in the opposite direction from the other Honda motors, so swapping it would be a problem.

hey dude, sorry to disappoint u but H22 IS swappable into civic CX (whis is lightest and best for swaps, 2100lbs) u have to buy engine mounts from ebay, u can get all that stuff, and theres tons of civic hathes with H22 in them, right now theres green show car with one on ebay, which runs 13's he has slips.

"JDM H22A PRELUDE ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION SWAP. PLACE RACING MOTOR MOUNTS, WIRING HARNESS AND SHIFTER BOX. CUSTOM MADE DRIVE AXLES. DC SPORT 4-2-1 POLISHED HEADER. AEM COLD AIR INTAKE FROM A 99 CIVIC SI. AEM ADJUSTABLE FUEL PRESSURE REGULATOR. AEM CAM GEARS. CENTER FORCE DUAL FRICTION CLUTCH. P 13 ECU, MUGEN CHIP. 5,200 V-TEC"
Direct from the auction. With these mods, you're talking nice gains over the stock H22. I stand corrected on whether it was swappable, like I said, I HEARD it wasn't.
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayI ... 0961127
You mentioned timeslips? I see none. And even if there were slips, nothin is written in stone that they're really his. I've seen plenty of people try to pass off other's slips as their own.
The Civic CX is light like that(actually just about 2225lbs, which I can prove) because it has the 1.5 motor and such. Once an H22 and tranny is swapped in, that 2100lbs means nothing, cause it's increased considerably, along with the weight distribution being thrown off even worse.
None the less, I bet the car is quick, and with those mods, maybe he can run low 13's, but we weren't talking about a well modified H22, we were talking 200hp.
