I wasn't the other mx-3 . . . not yet anyway. I'm going to Chicago to pick up (hopefully) a 92 base mx-3 next weekend for my daughter.

Like you said there aren't many mx-3s around here. We have seen the the one you are looking for around too. Would like to know what your thoughts are for me to be concerned about when I go check out the mx-3.

When she gets her mx-3, she might want to hook up with you. We're in Mt. Vernon, IL too . . . go figure.

look for rust or evidence of respraying in the door jams and hatch seal areas.... if evidence of respraying or possibly different color paints could have been in an accident.

Also when test driving make sure you do a couple u turns off on a side street while accelerating to see if it makes any clunking noises (cv joints are gone) if it does clunk.

ride over a few pot holes to see how the suspension handles and accelerate up to 6500 rpm a couple time to see if the car accelerates well and brakes well without any problems.

other then that not much else you can do except ask questions and try to talk the buyer down a bit more:)

Wasn't me either.
I am from Decatur and have seen a least three GS models (Black, Red, and Teal), one SE, and a handful of RS models including mine. Seems like a lot for one city of 80,000.
I just got back from vacation in Jacksonville and during my travels only saw 2 MX-3's both white.
I saw more RX-8's than that.
