I have been hearing that drilled rotors are better but i also hear slotted are better to i am just wondering what you guys think about each one. And what about rotors that have both slotted and drilled are they wartht he money?

cross drilled and slotted are best to go with imo. but it might be a little over-kill for the stock engines imo.

Both are methods of removing heat from the brake disc, which reduces wear so after lots of heavy braking you still have proper brake power.
One thing to notice is that most cross-drilled and slotted rotors (the ones with both) are marked as not warrentied. This is always something I am leery of.

neither....factory rotors are just as effective. Slotted or x-drilled can't be resurfaced later

there is a more important reason than heat for the holes... at least with race composite brake pads.
a gas builds between the surface of the rotor and the pad as the race composite breaks down from the friction and heat. gas coming between 2 rubbing surfaces subsequently reduces the friction between the rotor and pads - making them work far less effectively. the holes (and slots) help eliminate this gas buildup from RACE composite brakes. this does not happen with conventional pad materials, however - which is why you don't really need cross drilling for street car use.
if you push those medium to cheap quality c/d rotors you *will* warp them... so if you can't use the brakes at 100% because they might warp you have to ask - how effective are those cross-drilled holes anyways?

slots also help with hard braking when the pads glaze, it cuts the glaze so they have a fresh surface

slotted rotors: and you go thru pads rather quicker. From my observations... best only for track.

iv had mine(slotted and cross drilled) in several months now and the only complaint i have is the KVR CF pads suck, and the coating on the brembo disks in the rear are comming off. but other than that they are awsome. oh and when im driving down the road and your next to a median or something they make like a chopping noise, i think its the pad on the slots. but i have practically no pad wear. and with the KVR pads they work better the hotter they get. so cold they really suck, they feel like theres grease on the roter. but as soon as you step on the brake and heat the pad up alittle they work nice

this shouldn't be a reason to buy a pair of rotors. Once a set of pads are properly broken in, they won't glaze unless you are at the track with some crappy autozone pads that can't handle the continuous braking. performance pads that are designed for the track simply won't glaze over. They are more likely to chunk apart and eat your rotors.

read something on the miata forums that they worked well for braking, but wore out really fast.
