Hey Sam,

Having just completed this upgrade myself (adding H&R springs while I was at it), I can tell you that you don't need the ZX2 bearings for the rear because THERE ARE NO BEARINGS for the rear. Why? Because the bearings are only there to aid with steering...obviously the rear wheels are fixed in place.

In terms of the zx2 struts fitting, everything fits just fine. Just make sure you're aware that if you're also getting lowering springs the amount of negative camber that results will pretty much require that you buy camber bolts to get the camber back to a somewhat normal range.

Hope that helps!

what camber bolts do you suggest?

so the zx2 struts fit with no modification? but from reading past posts it seems that modification is needed.(front or rear) please, let me know how you did this.

I have a set on my car with ground-controls. they fit fine. I enlarged the hole for the strut bearings, but will eventually upgrade to ZX2 ones when I install my strut mounts and have to remove the springs anyways.

They are pretty decent struts for the money, the damping isn't as much as i'd want them to be, but whatever....for the price, you can't beat em.

ltj, re: the camber bolts, the ones I bought were SPC Performance (spcperformance.com) EZ Cam XR model #81250. They fit perfectly.

I didn't mean to mislead you about modifying the struts...there is the one modification (as Gro Harlem pointed out) necessary for the fronts which involves enlarging the hole so the new bearings fit. Other than that, no mods necessary.

And, as Gro also pointed out, they're certainly a great deal in terms of price/performance. :2thumbsup:

What's to research? I already went through this and posted an FAQ on it...

i did search...the search came back with quite a bit of feedback...99% of it was useless to my question. most of the feed back i recieved was how they worked for individuals and nothing about the install process.

thanx guys

haha yea i checked your FAQ post first, and then continued on to look into that protege guy's site, and what had to be done. he said you had to buy 2 new front bearings, and then cut out the old one?? or drill the hole big enuff, and then put the bearing on top of the spring perch?? :D thanx for all ur help. 2 pieces to go and i'll be ready to install em!

you dremel out the top strut perch plates...the holes are like 2mm too small. It took me like 20 minutes. I just sat there with a dremel and eventually, i was able to whack the zx2 bearings in with a rubber mallet, they are in there damn good now.
