Looks like a good kit! Someone should design, build and sell a intercooler kit that would fit in along with that. RS owners must be happy!

Man you guys are morons. Look at the kit and start adding things up: T3 turbo $500, Tial wastegate $230, Greddy BOV $200, manifold $350, downpipe $200. Then start adding in all the R&D time involved, the custom fabrication and $2000 is quite reasonable. Most kits for less don't include an external wastegate and some don't even include a BOV. The boost is set at 4psi because there is no additional means of fuel control offered at this stage. This is an affordable turbo kit that offers you stages to help spread some of the costs. That means, stage 2 will most likely offer the intercooler option and maybe some sort of fuel enrichment. Before you start bashing someones work, do some research before you spew utter crap from your mouth. Ric makes amazing stuff, ask any of the miata owners with his street or X-kit. Then again, these guys know what is needed to make power, money, you don't skimp on the important things.
And you wonder why so few companies are interested in jumping into the MX-3 market.

Nice kit.. if i had a sohc and i would consider it.. Given the turbo size a lil bit more money dumpoed into parts could yeild a lot of results.

question for ric.. can we buy the log manifold and downpipe seperately and without an external wastegate flange?
15% hp over stock motors and no intercooler at 4psi, that's around 13.2 hp.. which would result in a 101.2 hp result. another question is this 15% increase in whp or hp?
hey good work on the kit can't wait for stage 2. id be happy to let you use my car as a gineau pig if you're in the california area =D

Did anyone else notice that the wastegate is an external dump? I'm not sure why they aren't including an internally gated turbo with this kit. Your not making enough power to need the bigger external gate. The cost of the internal gate is easily covered by dropping the external gate from the kit.
Overall its great that some one came out with the kit. Like I said they should switch to an internal gate. Also it seems 6psi could easily be had with a RRFPR.

I don't believe Ric uses internally gated turbos on any of his kits, possibly personal preference? True it would drop about $300 off the price but I guess it depends on where stages 2 & 3 may take you.

This kit is a GREAT first step. I kind of see myself building my spare SOHC motor than getting this kit and using my sds with it if my b6t ever blows, would be a fun project. Hmmm, maybe even another rs should be purchased as they are relatively cheap around here. I'd fork over $2k for that kit anyday! Awesome!
