Turbo plumbing, what to do, what to buy?

Post by Manach »

Well, finally fetch my turbo, mani, pistons, and IC :D
I was thinking about getting the tube from a Capri, or a 323 GT.. as I got part similar to those.
I want something for a base turbo, not a monster car. Keep that in mind.
And curious like that, MazdaManiac, what are the flexible tube you are using?
Thanks for any help.

i was thinking (doesn't happen too often) and i came up with the idea that those flexible exhaust pipe deals might work pretty well for turbo piping as well. what do you guys think???

absolutly not. they break down very quickly on regular exhausts. i can only imagine what would happen on a turbo setup.

I'd say you would end up with an air leak from HE//. Go buy (4) 2.25" mandrel J-bends from www.jegs.com . Thats how many it took me for my front mount IC set up. Then just get some silcone couplinks and hose clamps to put sections of piping together. Weld them to gether and use the couplinks only where neccesary so you can dissasemble the piping later in life if you need to. It is very time consuming but worth it. ;)
