1995 Thru 1998 MAZDA MILLENIA S 2.3 MILLER ENGINE
would this engine (1995 Thru 1998 MAZDA MILLENIA S 2.3 MILLER ENGINE ) fit into '93 mazda mx-3 gs, would I be able to use stock K8 tranny with that engine?

Re: 1995 Thru 1998 MAZDA MILLENIA S 2.3 MILLER ENGINE
i could swear i saw this thread months ago... whats it doing back? well as far as i know in theory the engine will fit, but you won't be able to drive around with your hood on since the intake manifold on the 2.3 is tall... that is the last i remember reading on the subject...i've not seen the 2.3 personally so i can't offer my opinion ![Shrug ](./images/smilies/shrug.gif)

Its not really worth it IMO. It was built for economy not performance. Many people will tell you, its not worth the hassle.

Re: 1995 Thru 1998 MAZDA MILLENIA S 2.3 MILLER ENGINE
ive researched and its supercharged engine, and has 170hp, I guess Ill have to go with klde then, cause i want to boost it later on and klze is harder to turbo

I guess you didnt research enough.Originally posted by mitmaks:

2.5 milenia has 170
2.3 miller milenia has 215
the 2.3 is supercharged and is designed to give the power of a 3.0l V6 with the economy of a 2.0-2.5L V6
it has lots of toque for moving around a 3500 pound millenia.
you will have to get a custome hood made to clear the intercoolers or and probable do some custome piping.
will it fit. yes
everything else is up to you.

and it says
American: 2000-up Millenias 170 @ 6500 RPM, maybe Ive looked at wrong info, someone should add to that page miller engine specs, so people would know.

Re: 1995 Thru 1998 MAZDA MILLENIA S 2.3 MILLER ENGINE
yah, they should also list the 1995-1999 millenia 2.5, its basicly the same as the 2000+ but it would make things more clear.
also at the top of that page it says that it is a comparison of the different 2.5L mazda V6.

Re: 1995 Thru 1998 MAZDA MILLENIA S 2.3 MILLER ENGINE
Trying to put that engine in will be the biggest mistake you've ever made. Because the way the engine is designed I highly doubt you can just drop it in without cutting the firewall because its gonna hit in the back. The Millenia S engine wasn't designed for performance it was designed for economy and to bolt to a Auto Tranny. It has way too much torque down low for our cars. I would highly advise you to go another route.Originally posted by mitmaks:

I know Curt wouldn't advise it either, he just likes to throw fuel on any fire he sees.

Re: 1995 Thru 1998 MAZDA MILLENIA S 2.3 MILLER ENGINE
I think it would be cool to have that engine in an MX-3. I just dont have the money or time to do it.
eveyone use to say you couldnt swap in a 2.5 into the mx-3, then somone decided to take a chance and do it.
I say if some one wants to take the time and measure eveything, and spend the money on an engine, ecu and harness let them.
1) the KL-36 ecu is for automatic car, but it works just fine on standard cars, I would think that the Millenia ecu would be simmlar.

But itll have lots of torque and ill probably will be smoking any(mostly stock) imports out there at track ie type R's etc. I guess ill just get klde and turbo it later on
