K8 ecu and a/c question

I have been running a kl48 ecu with eprom chip on my ze for quite some time now. I have recently ran into some trouble, thinking it may be the ecu chip, I put in my k8 ecu that also had the eprom chip. After that, the problems with the engine seemed to go away, but now my a/c doesnt work. I put the kl48 ecu back in , a/c works just fine. The k8 ecu i am using is the original from my car, and from the factory it came WITHOUT a/c. Anyone else ever had the same problem? It's like my ecu doesn't read the fact that I now have a working a/c system.
