There are several indications. One is to check how many O2 sensors you have - OBD1 has 2, OBD2 has 4.

OBD2 has the extra diagnostic connector (16 pin) under the dash, supposedly on the driver's side, but that's only conclusive if you find it :)

Another way is to remove the ECU and look at the connector. OBD1 has a 3 part setup, with the contacts labelled 1A-1V, 2A-2P and 3A-3Z. OBD2 is different, and I haven't got that information for certain yet but its something like 4 parts labelled 1A- 1AH, 2A-2E, 3A-3AB, 4A-4AT (This is worked out from a diagram in Chilterns, and I'm not certain its reliable - I've found errors in another diagram in the same book).

Good luck, and let us know how you get on.

Re-shaped and re-sized gearshift lever. Best driveability mod you can do!
Extra thick soundproofing in the boot (trunk) to quieten my stainless steel exhaust system :)

Will this be the same on a '93 GS?

Where are the O2 sensors located?

Just look under the dash and if there is a hook up for an OBDII reader. If there isn't one its OBDI.

No worries, all '93s are OBD1. OBD2 only started during '95.

o2 are located on the headers on the downpipe, pop the hood and look at the front header, if there is 1 o2 sensor ther the car is obd1 if there is 2 its obd2
