Battery completely dead after runnin!!!

Post by 93MX3SpecialEdition »

Well, first I was driving and my deck was going on and off. After that I got home and shut the car off. I tried to start it a couple seconds later and it was completely dead. My belt does squeal a little bit but not that much. It also has a new alternator. Is there a short somewhere? ro what?

Help would be greatly appreciated!!!!

Thanks!!

First of all, how long has your belt been squealing for. If it's been a few days or longer, then you've probably killed the battery due to the belt not driving the alternator efficiently. Otherwise the battery just wont hold a charge and would need to be replaced. Oh, and don't forget to fix that squealing belt.

Could be a cell in you battery.
Or
How new is the altonator? It may have been fitted wrong or even faulty.
Are you reves fine? If they are too low, it sometimes isnt enough to charge your battery.

Get your belt fixed.

It's sqealing because it's loose. Tighten it up and it shouldn't squeal. You should probably replace the belt all together though. It will be glazed and possibly cracked.
