Hey guys, hoping someone can shed some light on this cuz i am out of ideas.

Car: 92 MX-3 Precidia
problem: blows distributor.

Replaced distributor 1 year ago as it failed. lasted just over one year before it blew again.. replaced a second time. lasted approx 4 days until it displayed the same symptoms. Stalling out at high RPM. leave it for 5-10 min it re-starts and drives for a bit, untill revs over 3K.

Replaced crank angle sensor as we though it was faulty. same thing. troubleshot all electrical currents to distributor (ingectors, ecu, grounds) all check out to spec voltage and current. I dont want to blow another distributor/ignitor, but i cannot find any other problems. I'm not sure what else to check... can anyone lend some ideas?? I am using an OEM replacement distributor (beck arnley) from lordco, a local parts store...

In speaking with the Mazda mechanics they said there was a technical advisory (not quite a bulletin, or recall) on the ignitors saying that they burn out. They advised to replace the distributor with an actual MAZDA part. Is this just dealership money grabbing or is there any truth to this....

any help would be great as I need to get this running...

thanks alot
