ZE UCU and certain possible problems

Post by RobertoCarlos »

I am almost positive the ZE ECU has a top speed cutoff and was wondering if anyone has successfully disabled it. Also wondering what kind of gains can I expect with the ZE ECU over my 1.8 ECU with a Jet chip in it. Thanks

the speed cutoff is set to 180 kph and 100% sure of that..tried it myself..there's a way that you can disabled it but don't why you would want to do that

You ask a lot of questions that could be answered by searching.
Remove wire from inst. cluster (speedo) that feeds the ECU. Look on online shop manual for exact wire, I won't do it for you.

KL03 isnt a 1.8, the K8 is the 1.8l. The KL03 is a 2.5l, but its actually called a KLDE, not a KL03
I maxed out at 190 with my old k8, it did feel like it it was being cut-off, more like it didnt have the power to go faster

Well you guys dont have to believe me but there were two other guys doing 240 with me, one in a honda prelude and one in an integra and they were both doing 240 as well. Anyways that whole thing is besides the point I just wanted to know what wire I would have to cut and if I do cut the wire that goes form the cluster to the ecu will I still have a speedometer and can I cut the wire at the ecu

Indicated 240kph -10% speedo error = genuine 135mph.
So maybe on a good day with the wind behind.
Stuart

10% is a very high speedo error. 3% is more like it.
