antifreeze boils over

Hey, when I drive my car for a bit it will start to idle high when it gets hot. The temperature guage reads normal at medium. Sometimes I can kick it down from idling high. But my antifreeze still boils over. I tried spraying the throttle with wd40, but now I'm thinking that it has to be something else. Has anyone had the same problem, can you please help me.

First? what's engine you are running? 1.8 or 2.5 and what millage?
it may be a misfonction of the thermostat. It could be also, a damaged impaler's water pump.
Need more information of your setup

Oh, and the temperature readout sucks. Don't look at it anymore.

I would check your upper rad hose and other rad hoses for leaks or signs of leakage. A leak in your upper rad hose can cause your temp gauge to shoot up and down, and also can empty your overflow. I fixed mine a few months ago, this was the problem. I can't say I saw boil over though. That could be your head gasket pressurizing the coolant system....

I have a 1.8l v6 with 150 000k. I will take a look for a leak in the hose. A few months ago I got my thermostat replaced so i don't think its that unless it isn't working properly. thanx
