question about cone filter

Post by stylez »

I bought a new cone filter and an adapter plate that the dealer said that I needed. But when I got home and put it on, the filter fit right on the mass air sensor without needing the adapter. At first, the engine light was on but went off the next day. The car runs great and I can really notice a difference when I shift to secound. The dealer looked really puzzled when I took the adapter back. Do I need the adapter or not because it doesn't seem like it

It sounds like you have a v6 and you clamped the filter right on the vaf, You do need an adapter for the 4cyl engines. The dealer you went too should have know that. Anyways Just so you know if you are just putting a filter on the vaf, make sure you zip tie the whole thing to something because my intake was bouncing around and cracked the disty and the metal ring on the top of my filter almost rubbed thru my AC line.
