Are you talking about the plastic tubing in front of the engine near where the hood latch is ?

If you have and aftermarket filter (which you seem to have from your pictures) you can remove it.<P>It was used to send cold air to the OEM air intake filter box.

yes but will it be benficial to keep in the tube

I don't think it will help that much since the filter will mostly suck in air from the engine bay at idle and maybe a little bit of fresh air from that tubing part at high speeds.<P>But the gains will be minimal. If you take that out then where do you put the hood prop rod?

just set it top of you fan shroud or make your own bracket
