I just got home from work. Its late, and my empty light came on. There are no gas stations open, so its gotta wait till morning.<p>but on the way home, the engine start revving itself, even at idle, it was reving between 2 and 3 rpms.<p>is this related to the fact that i'm about to run out of gas, or do i suddenly have an entirely different problem altogether?<p>-Abs

ok the tank is full of gas, and even when the clutch is disengaged, the engine still revs between 2.5 and 3 rpms.<p>any ideas on what the problem could be?<p>-Abs

the only thing i can think of bro is your tranny, i had the same prob and it ended up being the tranny, i could be wrong though.<p>

i was talking to a friend, and he seemed to think it was the wiring. a loose connection, bad sensor or somesuch.<p>how could it be the transmission? i have no problem shifting gears... the rpm's are reving... thats the engine, not the tranny.<p>-Abs

do a search<p>topic has been brought it many times, and it seems that there is a lot of things that could cause it<p>try adjusting your TPS
check for cracks in your intake hose
any vacume leaks

I thought this was normal for the V6, or at least I thought I read that somewhere. My 92 GS does it all the time when the weather is cold and I drive it before it fully warms up!

I had a similar problem that started for no apparent reason
Mine was the water pump check it out if not I dont know. Good luck
