No Guts from the get go

Hi guys,
I just recently purchased a 93v6. Now i'm not one for knowing alot about cars but i'm learning. My problem is there seems to be a lack of power when i initially step on the gas. Now my car is auto but i would think for a v6 it had a little more power from the get go. Does anyone know what could be causing the lack of power.

I have an auto GS also. It's not a problem with your car, it really is that slow off the line. I know it sucks. I'm doing a 5 speed swap soon.

Thx for the response, your right it sucks but when it gets going god its sweet. I was told to get a better exhaust system to improve speed. What do you think is the first thing i should change. Bear in mind i just tapped out my savings so i don't have alot of cash on hand right now. But i can start to do things one @ a time.

First of all, keep the stock exhaust. With the auto tranny, you need to keep as much low-end as possible.
The TB coolant bypass mod is a very simple and cheap idea. Also, the PRM intake is another good idea for an auto equipped car.

Why does everything need to be low end? I don't understand.

You gotta realize that the size of this engine is smaller then alot of 4 cyl engines. Compare this 1.8L to like the 3.8L v6 in a sable or whatever.
I think it's pretty impressive for what it does.

I read an article saying that mx-3 gs has one of the smallest v6 engines ever made... and i still have the article if anyone feels like arguing.

The gs has to be reved out before it actually gives any performance at all. Do the engine swap and gain 50 lbs of torque. ;)
