high flow cat sounds cheap at low rpm?

Post by Sean Mandell »

wazup mx-3 peeps
when I accelerate she sounds like a cheap piece of jap scrap at low rpm until 4500rpm then she sounds crisp to redline.
while I deccelerate sometimes I here small backfire noises. I have a high flow cat 2.25" mandrel bent exhaust pipe with a race 2.5" magnaflow exhaust also minus the resinator. finally my ? is can a high flow cat sound good at low rpm? or should I put the resinator back? or are there good highflow cats that make the car sound crisp and more hp? my hunch is that high flow cats are all the same and maybe u can spray the cat with some kind of rubberized substance.
Any suggestions would be appreciated
