What wire? At a speaker or at the headunit?

If it's at a speaker and it's still connected you can check the speaker terminals, they're marked with a + and -.

It doesn't matter. Just make sure they're hooked up the same on both speakers, and the signal will be in phase. Seriously - the worst that could happen is one speaker is out of phase with the other which would just give you weak bass and lower midbass sound. It won't blow anything.
