Re: cd player in glove box
what do you mean, in the glove box?
is it going to be:
1. Have to open the box to see it
2. or cut the box and have it come out the front of it.

I imagine you are doing this for anti-theft reasons? or you just like the stock look of your dash. anyways i've done a few "glove box installs" and it is quite easy, the hardest part is fabricating some sort of a cage to keep it from bouncing around. metra electronics makes a mounting kit for boats that will probably work if you flip it upside down(as it sits under the dash in a boat) any local electronics store will have an account through metra as it is the leading supplier for stereo wiring harnesses. it should cost around $30. As for the wiring, you can tap into the factory wiring with "piggyback"clips, then you can use both, your factory deck, or your aftermarket one, whenever you want. glove boxes are very useful in the audio world. I;'ve seen many things installed in there, from cd changers to crossover networks, to a flip out flatscreen. good luck and I hope this works out for you.

Re: cd player in glove box
another thing to consider is how to control the unit. Of course its gonna be impossible to use the faceplate while driving, so unless you have a good steering wheel remote or something you may run in to problems.
A theory I have is a RF extender used in Home Theatres. I have one down here in my basement and basically one piece attaches to the source unit, then you can run the other end up and out of your cabinet so you can have everything closed and still control stuff. It's VERY nice and I am pretty sure it'd work on your Head unit. You could mount it in your vent. (they may also make something like this specific for car stereos). I know some decks come with one (ie. High End Eclipse decks).
