It absolutely destroyed the carribian countries it hit. Maybe it'll die down to a 4 or 3 by the time it reaches you

Doubtful, the gulf is a nice strengthening point for hurricanes. Luckily, we got out of mississippi gulf coast...otherwise we would be evacuating in the next few days .

holy cow ! the wind outside is unbelievable and the predicted landfall is still over 8 hours away
