Found a nice JDM Import site, while I was proving a fact that Evo Lancers are not available for sale in Canada

not true i called these guys and they said you can get a evo7 in canada insured under american insurance companies and plated US.
Evo8s you can bring here no problem as they were american produced versions. And i mean "american produced lightly"
any car produced in North america or amde for North america.... no problem in both countries.
any car outside of that other then 15 yr old ones to bad.
so basically i know you can bring in the r32 skyline at the moment as i think it now borders on the 15yr rule.
anyhow...
have fun

Im not saying you cannot IMPORT the car. But it is not available for Sale in Canada. I have talked to Mitsubishi dealers, talked to insurance companies and I know a few people who have had to go to the States to import them.

That's not always the case. It has to meet canadian standards in order to be registered. U.S. standards are slightly different from canadian. I'm pretty sure that the new evo didn't meet the standards for front bumpers or something stupid like that.
