Surge Soda

Post by Mastirmynd »

Not nearly car related, but i want to know if anyone else here remembers and misses Surge? I Had almost forgotten about it until the other day. I used to be addicted to it, and then it just kinda faded out, coke stopped almost all production of it. I found a website pertaining to its hopefull comeback, but im not gonna post it yet, at the risk of coming off as a plug for the site. :freak: But does anyone else miss surge? or am i just weird? :freak:

Can I go out on a limb here and ask what exactly is surge (i.e. what does it taste like?). Sorry to say not only do I not remember it, but I've never heard of the stuff. To young I guess  .

it really didnt taste like anything but itself, but if i had to take a stab at it, id say it was kinda like mello yellow and sprite mixed, with a little bit more of a bite to it. It was sold in the mid to late 90's.

yeah, its disappearing everywhere, there is supposedly a resteraunt in richmond that still has it, a friend of mine lives there so im gonna call him and tell him to go check it out.
And i remember clear pepsi :) , we were talking about it the other day in class when we were debating marketing failures. From what i understand, clear soda was doing a lot better than dark soda, because people associated clear with clean, and dark with dirty, so pepsis idea was just to not add the dark color to pepsi and people would think it was "clean".

Hmmmm, I can't imagine drinking a glass of clear pepsi. Save the clear soda for fruity drink like 7up and sprite. :werd:

There's a much better drink out there then Surge....it's called Bawls. It's got such a high caffeine content that they actually have a warning on the bottle. The caffiene in it is 2.5 times stronger then the caffiene in coffee. It's great stuff. :2thumbsup:

I remember that clear pepsi! I know that there was a law passed up here in canada making clear drinks that have caffiene in them illegal. Thats why we don't get the canned red bull up here!!! :rant2:
