The Chinese produced live action adaptation of Initial D, directed by Tsui Hark and featuring Edison Chen as Takumi, is set to begin filming in Japan in March. The movie is set to be release simultaneously in Hong Kong and mainland China later this year.
Jackie Chan was originally rumored to direct this film. Then, renowned Hong Kong director Tsui Hark initially was given control of the project. At the last minute, Hark bailed out due to numerous disagreements with the production company.
Anime News Network reports that Tsui Hark has abandoned the upcoming Initial D live action movie because of disagreements with the film company over how it should be filmed. The new director is Andrew Lau who is known for his work as the director of the Infernal Affairs trilogy.
The Initial D anime is currently being released by Madman Entertainment on DVD.

im hoping ep2 will be doen when i get home from work,
They, they have a Civic, why not an Mx-3

They're on a roll with Mazda's, so why not..god i would kill to se that...but as long and the driver isnt an *** like the Civic driver...i woudl see them stereotyping it and putting a girl driver, i dont know if what would be a good or a bad thing

Personally i recommend viewing Episodes 1-5 (or is it 6) of Stage 1, it give you a good intro along with his match against an FD3S
