---damn snipers. I was the only bidder on a ZE disty and coil ($15.00 US) for 6 days, the auction ended tonight at 12:45am, so what dose this guy do? waits untill 12:05 to out bid me by 5 bucks, luckly I stayed up for the end so I could re-bid. I won for $30.00

so the bastarde lost but ended up costing me doubble.

There is a reason that Ebay will keep bidding on your behalf.

Just put in you MAX bet. Real auctions keep going untill the highest bid is reached, but on ebay people try to steal the auction away at the last second for 1 dollar more, thats low man, your denying me the chance to out bid you, thats cheap, I bid on this 6 days ago and was the only bidder for 6 days, if someone else wanted it they should have bid then, not 20 min befor the end of the auction.

O well, Im just tired and pissed, but happy that I got the disty I wanted for less than 300.00 :)

KILL ALL THE SNIPERS!!!!!!!

cant you do proxy bidding? put in your highest at like 30 bucks and when he bids 16 to outbid you immediatly he is outbid at 17 bucks....all the way up to 30...

It is Proxy bidding. Think of it this way. The sniper doesn't want to pay more either If he outbids you earlier, then you will outbid him, and vice versa, and the bid could be more than $30.
If you don't want to be outbidded at the last moment, try putting your max bid, and if he wins, then your not mad, because it will be an amount you don't want to pay.

I am an ebay sniper and damn proud of it! :2thumbsup: The only people that bid on an item at the beginning of an auction are ebay beginners (no offense curt). By bidding early you're doing nothing but setting the bar for others to beat. The best approach is to wait at LEAST until the last day of the auction and dont use your MAX bid til the last minutes. That way you're saving yourself money and decreasing the chance that you will be outbid. The only problem with this technique is if your max bid is lower than the max bid of the person before you, you wont have time to re-bid, but if he's willing to pay more for it he deserves to win. :werd:

a real autcion doesnt end at a set time, it will keep going untill people stop bidding.

that other guy had 6 days to bid and put his best offer in, if I didnt stay up to 1 am in the morning he would have got it for 25 bucks, the seller would have lost money because sniping takes away the opertuinty for people to respond to counter offers.

if he had bed earler the seller may have gotten $100.00

Forget, ebay snipers anonymous, I'm also proud of sniping. Guess I just want it more than the other guy. It's the way it goes down, either snipe, or lose out. If I want it more than the other guy, I"ll pay for it, not my fault he wasn't watching the page at the last second. If you think you'll get sniper, put a higher reserve.

I snipe but for this reason:

I has an auction for a collctor video card, very rare prototype, put my proxy bid for $50us and was leading for a few days until the last hour when a guy came up and outbid me, so i upped it to $80, outbid again. Check the bid history and the guy was going up in $5 incremends to try to outbid me, so the last 10 seconds, i put in a bid for $102 and wont the auction for $95bux. If i would have put that $102proxy, he would have done the same thing, so i didnt give him a chance...pissed me off, but this is teh way i do auctions (although its been almost a year since my last).

- If theres an item with no bidders, i will bid the miminum so he cannot widthdraw the acution, they can do that at anytime with no bids on an item. SO if i win at item at $1, great!
-If there are 2 or more people fighting over an auction i will not even make my presence until the last minute. The more people there are the more aggressive the biggers get with higher proxies. If they think they'll win, the lower they will set their proxies. The more bidders there are, the less likely
