keeping floor clean in car

hey i am the type of person that cant stand my floor in my car to get dirty. infact i cant stand any of my car being dirty. i work in an aluminum factory and my shoes get so dirty so i bring sandels to work and keep them in mycar so i can where them and keep my shoes on the rugs. and what gets me is people tell me i am stupid for doing that. so i am wondering how many people go above and beyond to keep there interior clean?
