my mom's undergoing surgery

she's had a virus in her throat since friday and it just became serious. some type of tumor developed in her throat which is blocking her passageway and she is getting surgery first to open her throat so she can breathe, then while its open she is going to have the tumor scraped and removed.<p>my relatives informed me saying that she got morphine, a level of 10 *which is the most you can take at once i believe* and she's STILL in pain.<p>the most emotional part for me is seeing her miss out on this weekend... she had to miss out on concert she was looking forward to... a duet concert and she had to stay home. she also missed out on a dinner party with relatives. just seeing her struggle to eat soup and bananas is the most heart-crushing thing ever.<p>my advice is to not take loved ones for granted and to always hope for the best.

I wish she will be all aight, my mother had a similar surgery less than a year back; but the cause of the problem was she was shopping in the mall and the janitor spilled the hot water mix and whitex on the floor and she breathed the steam of it and she was not able to breathe anymore and @ the hospital they had to remove something in her throat. I hope things work out for your mom - my mom went through something a few years back, but she's fine now (knock on wood)

best wishes and hope she is up and on her feet again. i know what its like to have a parent under the knife and the feeling of not knowing. but yo it will be ok!

thanks for all the support guys. well she is currently still in ICU after surgery yesterday and is recovering/under examination. still don't know what the cause of tumor was.<p>my relatives informed me that she was near death yesterday at surgery. i guess it was a delicate operation.. being the throat and all.<p>im probably going to visit tomorrow with my brother and a buddy (haven't visited her at all yet been too busy with school) and again saturday afternoon with more buddies.<p>again thanks for all the support.
