You can have a checking or credit card or both listed. I have mine set-up to use my checking account and my credit account as overdrafts. You can use Paypal anywhere if I'm not mistaken. Cause I see people from all over the globe bidding. You can use E-bay payments, which lets you buy money orders online. I personally like Paypal, it's fast and you get receipts and can get insurance if the seller or buyer doensn't pay.

I use paypal all the time for small transactions. I would not do major business or leave money sitting in an account with them, but that is my 2 cents. You need to register either a credit card or bank account with them. I do know someone that was screwed out of about $1200 through them. check this out before you make a decision. paypalwarning.com

I no longer use paypal.com. My bank allows me to just enter anyones email address into their system thing, and all i have to do is just type in how much i want to send to he/she and hit the 'send' button. Don't ask me how the heck it works though lol...

paypal is the best way of sending and receiving money as i experienced, i never bid on anything that doesnt accept paypal, since i hate money orders as i have lost 2000 dollars in a transaction,,,
its both safe and fast, you get insured, and u can use both checking and credit card to purchase items; its also the best way to receive money, the person just pays it through their card, and u have an option of transfering the money to your bank account. I am trying to sell anything i have in my apartment that i have never even touched for the past 2 weeks, and its a great way of doing business,,,, :D :D
sold about 35 items, and all of them paid through paypal except 5 of them who came to pick up their items,,,
